FAQs

Q: What quality are your utensils?

A: All utensils are made from the highest quality 18/8 (304) food grade stainless steel. The two numbers (18 and 8) refer to the percentage of the two main ingredients to make stainless steel cutlery: chromium (18%) and nickel (8%). 304 grade stainless steel is also comprised of no more than 0.8% carbon and at least 50% iron. We've chosen 18/8 stainless steel for our cutlery so you can enjoy high quality utensils for your food preparation and dining experiences.

Q. Are your utensils dishwasher safe?

A: Yes. We recommend always putting in the cutlery holder if in a dishwasher. However, our cutlery is designed for on the go and a simple rinse and wipe dry should be sufficient to clean. For best results, do not use serrated cleaning items such as steel wool to maintain color.

 Q: Are your utensils handmade?

A: No, our products are made using specialized machinery to create high quality, standardized strength and customized designs.

Q: Will the colors of each utensil vary?

A: Our rainbow cutlery will vary and provide unique mixes of pinks, blues, purples, golds and greens with a variation of color intensities. This means that your rainbow utensils are also one of a kind! Our solid color cutlery is standardized and consistent.

Q. Is your cutlery painted?

A: No. The colors in our cutlery sets are by an electroplating process. This involves vacuum plating using a coating of non-toxic titanium. The color is absorbed onto the surface of the stainless steel through a chemical reaction. The color will not fade, and in normal daily use, will not scratch.

Q: Are your re-usable cases eco-friendly?

A: Absolutely! Every case is made and designed to be re-used. We encourage everyone to invest in reusables and choose to re-use their Zipspoon cutlery & case to help reduce their impact on the environment.

Q: Do you ship worldwide?

A: Yes absolutely we ship worldwide! Worldwide shipping rates vary depending on the country so please check the rate once you are at checkout. Please note that respective country import duty costs must be paid by the customer. Please allow extra time for overseas orders.

Q: Is your packaging environmentally friendly?

A: Absolutely! Your cutlery will arrive with each utensil in paper wrapping, designed for recycling. The case will be in a cardboard box and the mailer it arrives in is also compostable! Simply put the mailer including the labels in your garden for it to break down within 180 days. No plastic here!

Q: Will using Zipspoon sets instead of single use cutlery make me a hero?

A: Yes! On behalf of all the sealife and wildlife often ravaged by disposable plastic pollution, THANK YOU.
